Nicol MacNicol

Portfolio Manager, Georgetown Office

Nicol MacNicol is a Portfolio Manager at Caldwell Securities Ltd. specializing in working with individuals, families and foundations. He addresses their unique challenges, which allows his clients to view him, and his team, as responsible guardians of their wealth. 

Mr. MacNicol uses a personal approach to establish a client’s expectations, analyze information and develop and review individualized and customized investment plans that are ideal for a client’s circumstances. He bases decisions on each client’s unique needs and preferences in the context of current market conditions, interest rates and the global business and political climate.

Mr. MacNicol has been actively managing clients’ investment portfolios since 1996 and joined Caldwell Securities Ltd. in 2011 During the course of his career, Mr. MacNicol has undertaken a number of industry related continuing education programs culminating in earning the Certified Investment Manager (CIM) designation with the Canadian Securities Institute and a Portfolio Manager registration with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (“CIRO”). 

In April of 2015, Mr. MacNicol joined the Board of SignPost Canada. Married since 1982, Mr. MacNicol lives in Mississauga where he is actively involved in a wide range of charitable activities. He enjoys golfing and curling as well as spending time with his two grown children – although no grandchildren at this time, he does have a wide range of ‘grand pets’.

After earning a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University in 1978, he began his career in the commercial real estate business in which he worked as a consultant, salesperson and developer for 18 years. This experience provided a diverse and well-rounded perspective of the business world.
