Fraser Ruth

Investment Advisor, Toronto Office

Fraser Ruth joined Caldwell Securities in the Fall of 2023, after working in the industry of Investor Relations for over three years. Prior to that, he spent two years as an Advisor at a large Canadian bank where he learned to take a holistic, goals-based approach to financial planning and wealth management.

The most important part of Fraser’s process is gaining a deep understanding of his clients, to provide advice tailored to their individual needs, objectives, and risk tolerance. He then implements simple strategies that are understood by both highly sophisticated investors and beginners, with client education being a core principle. His favourite part of being an Investment Advisor is seeing his clients achieve and exceed their financial goals.

In 2017, Fraser graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. He uses this accounting background as a foundation to his fundamental approach to investing, modeled after legends such as Ben Graham and Warren Buffett. When researching equities, the core of his strategy is finding growing, durable businesses trading at discounts to their intrinsic value.

In his spare time, Fraser enjoys reading books about investing, playing chess, running for charity, cottaging in Honey Harbour, tending to his vegetable garden, skiing, and playing hockey.

Fraser resides in North Riverdale with his Fiancé Krista and their rambunctious, playful and extremely athletic Australian Shepherd, Kaia.
